Is Japan on your bucket list? Or perhaps Mexico is Is Japan on your bucket list? Or perhaps Mexico is more your style given its proximity to the US or your love of all Mexican food. Have you wanted to plan a trip for the future but dreaded the thought of planning it?

@pueblayorkinc is an ethnically-sourced clothing brand. Founded by @seqchan in 2019 and inspired by Mexico and New York City. They recently launched culinary travel consulting services for Japan and Mexico.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sequoia is half-Japanese and has been traveling to Japan since she was an infant. After her first visit to Mexico in 2016, she uprooted her life in NYC and without knowing a soul, moved to Mexico for a couple months. Since then, she loves to visit regularly and explore more of the country and its cuisine.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Puebla York will help curate your food-focused trip for you and your loved one. Tea ceremonies, touring a whisky distillery, visiting a fish market, exploring the nuances of various mezcal, or taking a traditional Oaxacan cooking class. These are just many of the memorable culinary experiences you can have in Japan or Mexico. Find out more details about this service and our products @pueblayorkinc
Margaret Busby was born in Accra, Ghana to parents Margaret Busby was born in Accra, Ghana to parents with roots in Barbados, Trinidad and Dominica. She became Britain’s youngest and first Black woman book publisher in 1967 when she co-founded Allison & Busby.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Busy started off with very little money printing volumes of poetry accessible and affordable. Her idea of distribution was stopping people on the street and asking them to their books.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Busby would become A&B’s editorial director for 20 years, publishing a cluster of significant titles such as Sam Greenlee’s The Spook Who Sat by the Door, Buchi Emecheta’s Second-Class Citizen, C.L.R. James’ The Black Jacobins, and George Lamming’s The Pleasures of Exile.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Though they didn't exclusively publish Black authors, it was nevertheless a major catalyst for bringing the work of several writers from the African Diaspora to the public. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Nowadays, the technology permits you to be your own publisher and editor, which should encourage a lot of us, especially our young people, to write and express themselves.”

We are creatures of our own experiences and our uniqueness is what makes us special! Although, she is an athlete, like her many of us often worry about the perception from others thus resulting in us delaying something due to that uncertainty.

Hope this reminds you to be your authentic self. THAT IS THE BEST YOU CAN BE 💫💗 #repostedfrom #levis
Good morning WAWO Community!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We want to start the day by bringing awareness to the rise in hate crimes the Asian community is facing. Just so we're all on the same page it's only recent because we now have social media that heightens the urgency. Unfortunately, the Asian community has faced discrimination since way back in the 1800s with The People vs Hall, for example.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's important that we acknowledge what is happening and do our part to support the Asian community in the best way possible.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"You don't need to be part of a marginalized group to advocate for that marginalized group. You don't need to be Asian to vocally reject recent abuses in the US or to amplify people calling for action. You don't need to experience racism to want to destroy racism." - @ohioma
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you know of any organizations, communities and/or individuals who are advocating for the Asian community please share in the comments.
